Escape Artist Could Suffocate In Compression Chamber As Part Of Upcoming Tour

Escape Artist Michael Griffin Presents A World Exclusive Onstage - Escape From The Vietnamese Compression Chamber

COLUMBUS, OH DEC. 18 / -- Michael Griffin, America’s Escape Hero and only Two Time Winner of TV’s World Magic Awards for Best Escape Artist (http://www.escapeguy.com) in his never ending quest of “Embracing Life By Tempting Death” is unlocking an all new challenge to the Grim Reaper: escape from an original Compression Chamber as part of his live show that combines intensely original magic, impossible escapes, audience interaction and his World wide $100,000.00 challenge to anyone who can keep him prisoner.
The Compression Chamber used in Vietnam to “compress a confession “ for US prisoners was a cut down oil drum with a grill across the top.  The prisoner would be handcuffed and forced down into a crouched position and expected to confess.  This didn’t work and so a better version was developed using a solid locking top preventing any light from getting in and once bound and locked in the chamber would be placed into a pitch black room to fully deprive the captive from all sensory input.  This failed as well.  All the known instances of use resulted in the deaths of the captives.
Michael Griffin came into possession of one of these compression chambers and is being shackled up in the same manner with historically accurate irons, then forced down into the chamber taking one last breath.  The lid is then locked down with multiple padlocks and the whole chamber is placed into a black isolation room on stage.  Escape comes at a huge cost to the performer and as such is being used as the closing number on the live shows.
How does Griffin do what he does? Michael takes escapes to the extreme challenge in many forms including escaping water-filled sealed oil drums, the most complex police restraints and even mental hospitals. One of his most interesting on-stage challenges is an 1880s Navy Sea bag, most notably called the cloth coffin.
Griffin has taken passé escape concepts to an escalated level - into a new realm of risk in the art of escapology. What ordinarily would be a well-known handcuff escape Griffin adds the suffocating dare of having to escape from them inside a heavy airtight canvas sack, which is the most original escape today. Even the U.S. Government hasn’t been able to hold him in a real Postal Mailbag locked on the outside by a high security Government lock!
““Sometimes I feel like a gunfighter in the old west, never knowing what’s coming my way, but never being able to let my guard down”, says Griffin.”

Escape Artist Michael Griffin Hints At Sabotage On Americas Got Talent, Did Howard Stern Screw Him?

AMERICAS ESCAPE ARTIST MICHAEL GRIFFIN HINTS AT SABOTAGE  ON AMERICAS GOT TALENT, DID HOWARD STERN SCREW HIM?

HOWARD STERN TIES UP MICHAEL GRIFFIN ON SHOW, SPECULATION OF PRODUCERS SABOTAGE HITS THE WEB HINTS A POSSIBLE REMATCH?

MICHAEL GRIFFIN VIDEOS CLICK HERE

Columbus, OH- (May 29) 2x Winner of TV’s World Magic Awards, Michael Griffin Escape Artist (http://www.escapeguy.com) appeared on America’s Got Talent Monday night inviting Howard Stern the newest judge to tie him up on stage.  The King of all media admittedly didn’t know knots while bantering with Sharon Osborne. The Boss of Bondage looked at Howard’s handy work and began to shake violently, falling over in his chair, slithering out of the ropes in 26 seconds. He did not escape to the next round and is challenging Americas Got Talent to a live REMATCH.

Speculation of possible sabotage surfaced within hours of the videos hitting the web.  According to Writingshares.com  “I think it’s possible the show sabotaged him on purpose because they want to feature that kid act from St. Louis that was seen in the previews.”  Griffin, remarked later that he wasn’t happy not being allowed to do his more famous signature acts, instead being forced to perform the rope challenge, insisting that if you don’t get tied well by someone the whole thing unravels.  The Escape Artist is not ruling out a “Do Over” match with America’s Got Talent.

I helped catch a murderer

Just posted this on the linkedin board:

Michael Griffin • I helped catch a murderer.....
On the road while appearing at a mall in Alabama I was offering our challenge of $1,000.00 to anyone who can tie me up with rope preventing my escape. My assistant (wife at the time) came up to me and said Mike there is a scary looking nutjob guy who wants to tie you up, stay away from him he looks dangerous. Well I'm thinking hey this could be good on stage. I went up and met him, yup, he was wierd (kinda talked and looked at me like that kid in christmas story ralphie meets in line to see santa, that says i like santa). I asked this guy do you know how to tie people up? he said oh yes I like to tie people up. I facetiously asked him did you happen to bring any rope? he said yes, i have my rope in the car. I said OK......

So, the time came for him to come up on stage and tie me up, he immediately had me lay down in a hogtie fashion and immediately threw the rope under his foot to pull out slack, he grabbed my arms and started to truss me up so severely and quickly that he could only do so with much practice. I was nervous. I couldnt feel my hands, couldnt feel my feet, every move that I made pulled harder on the ropes around my neck connected to the ankles and hands,,,I thouhgt I was finally beat.

I think I passed out for a few minutes. I remember hearing a lady cry, I realized she was saying go michael go. I got back to work and finally, I dont know how but I got out. What was wierd was the local sheriffs were on stage during the roping up part and one deputy stayed up with me, I had no idea why, I also noticed the rope tie wierdo was gone and one of the sheriffs followed him.

After I got out, the show was cut short. The deputies were all over me asking questions like did you know that guy, have you met, did you set this up? I kept asking why? I dont understand. Then the bombshell.....

The deputies said that over the course of the last school season a couple of coeds had been found dead and tied up exactly like I was, same exact rope and found in trunks of cars. I just went numb, my wife was in shock. The duputies said this was like an old movie in which the badguys ego compels him to reappear and show off.

I heard back from the deputies a few months later, they had caught him and were sure he was their man.......This was one of the wierdest gigs ever

If you dont have me at your tradeshow, you have a missing persons situation

(thinking outside the box drawing leads to my client)

If you don't have me at your trade show, you have a missing person situation......
that's right you are missing persons leads that you could've got to follow up with later and your missing the only Me in the world and that unique, compelling x-factor I bring along that commands attention and draws eyeballs followed by butts moving towards your booth wanting to know more, wanting to hear back from you and wanting to do business with you.

I will tell you I think outside the box, ok, bad pun, but as the 2x winner of TV's World Magic Awards for Best Escape Artist (www.escapeguy.com), I can guarantee you that you will be impressed with the amount of leads generated and business that ends up in your account, not escaping to your competitors!

How far do I go to make sure no one escapes your message, would you believe I've even hung from the rafters upside down over my clients booth, escaping from a straitjacket and posing arms outstretched with their logo across my chest, making front page on both industry publications, you might say they were "heels over head" happy with the results.

The Great Escape Artist insists He's not the DEVIL

WILLISTON, FL– Michael Griffin escaped out of his final straightjacket. He pulled the last 40 separate and sharp needles from inside him, as they came from his mouth attached to seven feet of sting that he appeared to have swallowed with the needles.
It was Sunday evening (April 15) and the Levy County Fair had started to wind down from its four-day whirlwind of fun in Williston.
Griffin was among the performers who helped fair guests have a blast. He astounded audiences each time he wriggled out of a straightjacket, removed his hands from mitts made to stay on insane people, and quickly released himself from being tied by rope at his wrists. He told the audience his feats were pure muscle and movement.
The escape artist assured them there was no magic or demons or wizardry involved. He said this because, according to him, when he escaped from a trunk in a less civilized country, they wanted to kill him for using demons to let him out.

Griffin is the only escape artist granted permission to reenact Houdini’s 1912 death-defying underwater crate escape. He successfully escaped within 45 seconds after being bound, handcuffed and sealed inside Houdini’s 90 year-old original packing crate lowered into the depths of Florida’s hurricane-kissed Intercoastal waters…just 5 days before the 76th anniversary of Houdini’s death. Griffin put an additional spin on this by re-entering the crate again returning to the surface clutching the handcuffs taking the escape beyond the level of what Houdini did himself. What’s the secret? It’s Griffin’s strong mind, conviction, heart and belief system setting apart this distinguished performer from all others. “I do not use drugs or alcohol. I never have and I never will. I simply do not believe in their illusion, nor the illusion of negative thinking which is the toughest strait jacket we will ever face; but, if you put your mind to it, and you believe in yourself, you will always escape”
